Pakie started his finance career in corporate banking. Then moved to National Treasury and later management of
development institutions. He founded Mafori Group in June 1998. He holds post-graduate degrees in Economics,
Psychology and Education. He also holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics (London). He was awarded the
following scholarships; US-SALEP (United States-South Africa leadership Exchange Program], SAEEP (Southern African
Education Exchange Program), British Council Scholarship.

Monica joined micro-lending industry in 1995. She joined Mafori Group in 1999. She work in several sections:
collections, legal, risk management and product development. She holds several qualifications in Credit &
Risk Management. Her studies include visits to development finance institutions in Bucharest (Romania), Shore
Bank (Philadelphia, USA) and Washington (USA)
