  • Direct empowerment: Equity ownership

Entirely owned by black women, M2TD is a Level 1 BBBEE contributor. We’re proud of our role in supporting the empowerment of women, by promoting female leadership and ownership, and our efforts in this regard will remain ongoing.

  • Management

Ninety percent of M2TD Consulting’s strategic management positions are held by women: Tsholofelo Nyahuye is our Chief Financial Officer; Mantshadi Mashabela is Human Resources Executive; Zinhle Masilela is the MANCO Executive and Merle Pillay is our Sales and Marketing Executive. Our skilled and experienced management team is headed by Chief Executive Officer David Matshane.

  • Indirect empowerment: Employment equity

As M2TD Consulting’s staff contingent grows in keeping with the organisation’s development, we take pride in offering opportunities for employment and advancement to young South Africans from previously disadvantaged backgrounds (black African, coloured and Indian).

  • Skills development

We consider our internship programme to be one of our greatest successes. Thanks to this initiative, we have been able to equip countless young South Africans with the skills and knowledge to advance in the IT field. Several of the graduates from this programme have gone on to find employment at international blue chip companies.

  • Preferential procurement

M2TD has implemented a robust procurement policy to ensure a uniform approach to procurement whilst complying with corporate governance principles. The policy seeks to leverage buying power and increase the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of our supplies while optimising the number of our suppliers so that we benefit from economies of scale. The policy emphasises openness and transparency, thus preventing fraudulent activity, and ensures a fair, equitable and cost effective procurement process which also encourages competition. By eliminating duplicated procurement functions, the policy further aims to improve the efficiency of the procurement process.

  • Enterprise development

Small businesses have been identified as a driving force for economic growth and job creation. With this in mind, M2TD Consulting’s enterprise development programmes offer black entrepreneurs the support and training required to further develop their small businesses and provide a financial boost by including them in the value chain. M2TD thus plays a critical role in driving more inclusive and sustainable development, as evidenced by the number of SMMEs we have helped to grow.

  • Socio-economic development

M2TD has joined forced with Enabling Africa, the Marketing Hub, British Telcom and FlySafair to create an innovative project aimed at empowering learners in communities without access to the electricity grid, donating 1 000 solar-powered lanterns to the children of Actonville Primary School. Other initiatives include the donations of brass band musical instruments, with a total value of R300 000, to a church and an employment programme targeting the Cooperative of the Military Veterans.
